Nutrition Counseling
I offer personalized recommendations for different problems: If you are struggling with disordered eating you will need a different approach than someone struggling with metabolic syndrome (or both). I can offer individual recommendations based on your unique situation, physiology, and symptoms.

I have expertise in:
-
Creating meal plans for people in recovery from an eating disorder (from restrictive to binge patterns)
-
GAPS, Paleo, Super Gut, and anti-inflammatory diets for people with inflammation and autoimmune disorders.
-
Low-carb and ketogenic diets for people with metabolic disorders, PCOS or neurological disorders that focuses on restoring mitochondrial health.
-
General balanced nutrition for maintaining health based on the Wise Traditions principles.

I also recognize there is scientific research supporting and refuting different diets at the same time. One week salt is bad, the next it's good. The definition of "healthy fats" also changes regularly. What I've discovered working with hundreds of clients over the years is that different people need different approaches at different times in their life. I've had clients reverse their insulin resistance with high fat, low carb diets, and some with plant-based, low fat, high carb diets. I used to hold tightly to what was the "best" diet, and I've been humbled to admit there is no one best diet. That being said, there are universal principles, like homemade, whole-food based meals that are the foundation of a healthy diet. I always take into account your preferences, values and body's intuition when making recommendations. And sometimes we'll try one thing but based on the data you collect, we may make adjustments to the specific types of food you eat. Personally, I've needed different foods in different seasons in my life, from vegetarian to animal-based ketogenic.

I have one important caveat: If you are vegan, and I suspect that insufficient protein, fat or micronutrients are contributing to your symptoms (physical or behavioral), I will recommend you introduce eggs and dairy at a minimum. If this goes against your values, I completely respect that, but I may not be the right nutritionist for you.
